𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐛 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐚 is the Founder and Director of the 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬 & 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐋𝐚𝐛 and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐬. Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor at the University of North Florida (2022–2024). A 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐄𝐄𝐄 and 𝐅𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐦𝐚 𝐗𝐢, Dr. Saikia holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island (2019), a Master of Science in Bio-Electronics Engineering (2013), and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics (2009).

Prior to his faculty appointments, Dr. Saikia was a Research Associate at the Center for Applied Brain and Cognitive Sciences at 𝐓𝐮𝐟𝐭𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 (2019–2022). From 2016 to 2019, he served as a Lead Researcher on a major $6𝐌 𝐍𝐒𝐅 𝐄𝐏𝐒𝐂𝐨𝐑 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 at the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝, pioneering wearable neuroimaging technologies.

Dr. Saikia is a "full-stack" innovator in healthcare technology. Unlike labs that rely on off-the-shelf devices, his team engineers end-to-end systems from scratch, designing novel sensors, building custom circuit boards (PCBs), and developing the AI algorithms that power them. His research focuses on 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭-𝐆𝐞𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐨-𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬, 𝐈𝐧 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐨 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬, and 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐬 to make healthcare proactive and accessible.

Dr. Saikia has successfully 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 as a Principal Investigator to support his lab's innovations. He has authored 115+ 𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐫-𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 and is deeply committed to training the next generation of engineers, currently serving as the Major Advisor to 22 graduate students and having mentored over 39 undergraduate researchers. His work has resulted in multiple patent disclosures and high-impact publications in top-tier journals like 𝘐𝘌𝘌𝘌 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 and 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘴.

Earlier in his career (2012–2015), he served as a 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 at the prestigious 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 (𝐈𝐈𝐒𝐜), funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India.
