About

Associate Professor (Group Leader) at Universidade Católica Dom Bosco (UCDB). Member of the scientific and technological council at UCDB. Member of the Extension Program at UCDB.
Productivity Fellow from FUNDECT/CNPq (PQ 1C). Graduate advisor at the Master’s and PhD programs in Biotechnology and Environmental Sciences and Agricultural Sustainability at UCDB. Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences (emphasis in Biotechnology) from Universidade Católica de Brasília (UCB, 2014), and a PhD in Molecular Pathology (specialization in Biochemistry) from the Faculty of Medicine at Universidade de Brasília (UnB, 2019).
Has expertise in Biochemistry, Computational and Experimental Biophysics, Bioinformatics, and Microbiology. Worked as a Visiting PhD student at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB), The University of Queensland (Australia), funded by CAPES (grant no. 88881.134423/2016-01, 2017–2018), under the supervision of Dr. David J. Craik. The research focused on using experimental biophysics tools such as circular dichroism and nuclear magnetic resonance to study the structure of bioinspired peptides. Also has experience with atomic force microscopy (AFM), dynamic light scattering (DLS), and zeta potential analysis. Recipient of an Honorable Mention in the CAPES Award for Best Thesis (2019), and winner of all categories of the Best Thesis Awards at UnB in the same year. His research focuses on antimicrobial peptides (AMPs), their structural arrangements, and mechanisms of action. He also conducts molecular studies, including proteomics and transcriptomics, to elucidate bacterial resistance mechanisms to AMPs and conventional antibiotics.
Early Career Board Member at ACS Infectious Diseases.
Associate Editor for Frontiers in Bioinformatics, Antibiotics and Bacteriology.
Recipient of the Distinguished Researcher Award of Mato Grosso do Sul (FUNDECT, 2024).
