About
Sharon Christa is an Associate Professor in the School of Computing at MIT Art, Design and Technology University, Pune, India. Her research lies at the intersection of machine learning, Edge AI, and geospatial intelligence, with a focus on real-world deployment and interdisciplinary applications.
Her current work spans predictive maintenance on resource-constrained edge devices, LiDAR-based geospatial analytics, and mineral prospectivity mapping using self-supervised transformer architectures. She is broadly interested in developing scalable, deployment-ready AI systems that bridge the gap between theoretical advances and practical implementation — particularly in remote sensing and intelligent infrastructure contexts.
She collaborates actively with industry partners and contributes to open-source projects in these domains. Her technical work is publicly available on GitHub: https://github.com/sharonchrista .
