About

K.V. Satish completed his Ph.D. at the Forest Biodiversity and Ecology Division, National Remote Sensing Centre, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). His specialization focuses on remote sensing, ecological modeling, forest ecology, and biodiversity. He is passionate about harnessing in-situ and remote sensing earth observations to explore and understand a wide range of areas, including macroecology, biodiversity and conservation, forest management, biogeography, sustainable development, and climate change ecology studies.

Satish has a good publication record, with around 40 papers in top-tiered journals. Beyond that, he is also authored four books and several book chapters. He often shares his expertise by delivering invited lectures and provide training to students and scholars at renowned institutions. Satish often contributes to conferences and workshops as a resource person, technical session speaker, and session chair. Satish is a dedicated reviewer for several high-impact journals (i.e., Biodiversity and Conservation, Geocarto International, Environmental Monitoring & Assessment). He also took on an editorial role as a guest associate editor for 'Frontiers in Forests and Global Change' from 2022 to 2023.
