About
Umesh Chandra Behera, an alumnus of Sainik School Bhubaneswar and MKCG Medical College in Berhampur, Odisha, earned his master's in Ophthalmology from MKCG Medical College. He completed a Retina and Vitreous fellowship at Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai before joining the institute in 2006. In 2012, he moved to the L V Prasad Eye Institute, Bhubaneswar. His clinical focus is on treating vitreoretinal diseases in both children and adults. He has participated in more than 25 international clinical trials related to these conditions and authored more than 90 peer-reviewed papers. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for several global journals and has received awards for his contributions to the vitreoretinal literature. His interests include vitreoretinal surgery, diabetic retinopathy, ocular infections, and central serous chorioretinopathy.
