Dr. Santosh Kumar Upadhyay earned his Ph.D. in Tourism Management from Bundelkhand University Jhansi, as a research fellow in an ICSSR-funded research project in the year 2009, where he researched gender studies in the Tourism sector. He completed a Master in Tourism Management (MTM) from the University of Lucknow, MBA-HR From Shobhit University Meerut, and graduated from Allahabad University, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. He has more than 20 years of working experience as an academician, researcher, and industry professional. He specializes in Aviation Management and Tour Operations. He teaches courses i.e. Airline Ticketing, Travel Agency and Tour Operation Management, Service Marketing, etc. He is passionate about engaging students in hands-on research experiences and mentoring the next generation of professionals.

Dr. Upadhyay's research interests include Gender studies, Livelihood Intervention, Environmental and other various dimensions of Management and society. Three doctoral research scholars completed their doctoral degrees under his supervision and two others are in the process of completion. He has published numerous articles in top-tier academic journals listed in Scopus, Web of Science, UGC Care, etc., chapters in various edited books, and Conference proceedings. His researches focus on the various magnitudes of tourism, hospitality, and management and understanding the mechanisms underlying decision-making processes and how they influence the social, cultural, economic, and environmental aspects of the nation.

Besides his academic dedication, he has additional responsibilities i.e. Chairperson, Library Committee, HNDB Central Library AdtU & YUVA Tourism Club; Member secretary: Faculty Research Committee, Board of Studies, Programme Advisory Committee, Programme Coordinator: UG & PG Courses. He is a member of the Indian Tourism & Hospitality Congress. Associated as a BoS member and examiner from various Universities of India. He regularly attends conferences and serves as a reviewer for leading journals in his field. Dr. Upadhyay is actively involved in promoting Tourism outreach and education initiatives. Participates in public lectures, and collaborates with community organizations to raise awareness about Tourism and hospitality sectors.
