Dr. Rishi Richa (B.Tech, M.Tech., Ph. D.) is Assistant Professor cum Junior Scientist in College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, Srinagar, India. She obtained her Ph.D. and M. Tech degree in Process and Food Engineering from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology. During her Ph.D. she has been awarded with the TEQIP-II fellowship and joined two months training at EPLEFPA de Périgueux, France under Indo France Academic Exchange program in Food and Meat Processing, 2016. Currently she is also working with Division of Renewable Energy Engineering of the University. She has also received the Vice Chancellor Medal in 2011, Young Scientist award in 2015, Best Article Award in 2020, Young Women Scientist Award in 2021, Young Agriculture Engineer Award in 2022 and Presidential Appreciation Award in 2022. She has published over 25 papers in peer-reviewed journals, more than 18 popular articles, 3 books, 6 book chapters and 03 manuals. She has guided four M. Tech scholar in Processing and Food Engineering. She handled 02 research projects as a Principal Investigator. Her research areas are Ohmic heating, microwave heating, drying & dehydration, storage and packaging optimization and mathematical modelling, food waste utilization, bioethanol production. She has received two patent for machine design.
