About

The behavioral ecology of anuran amphibians is my key area of research. This includes ecological and reproductive character displacement, sexual dichromatism, breeding behavior, and acoustic communication. In appreciating ecological questions, I integrate landscape ecology issues such as movements, fragmentation, and landscape dynamics. I also work on patterns and processes of habitat fragmentation in amphibians and their distribution modeling. In urban ecology, I stress the relevance and understanding of key ecological processes operating in urban environments (noise, air and water pollution, and urban-rural divide) and on the concept of ‘generalist’. My research interests also encompass ecological complexity, agent-based modeling, and citizen science initiatives. More details at <www.gururajakv.net>.
