About

I am a post-doctoral researcher working in aquatic microbiology. I carry out multiple collaborative projects to study the effect of anthropogenic pollution and its impact on ecology (micro, macroflora and human) in various aquatic habits like freshwater, estuarine marine ecosystems. I am particularly interested in studying wastewater microbiome influences in water bodies focused on pathogens and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). I bring over a decade of experience in environmental metagenomics, microbial ecology, bioinformatics, molecular biology, and data analysis.

My passion is to apply my expertise to address real-world environmental challenges. I have led and contributed to several impactful research projects that have revealed the microbial diversity, potential pathogens, fecal indicators, resistance genes, and pollution indicators in various river systems and lake ecosystems in India. I have also developed tools and skills in NGS, Nanopore/Illumina sequencing, qPCR, proteomics, and fish barcoding for environmental monitoring and assessment. I am proficient in chemical analysis, RT/q PCR, molecular biology, microbiology, and bioinformatic data analysis. I have published my findings in peer-reviewed journals and presented them at national and international conferences. I am also experienced in mentoring students, managing labs, and teaching assistants.
