About
I hold a Ph.D. in Biotechnology and have more than 15 years of research and academic experience in
nanobiotechnology, biosensors, molecular diagnostics, cancer biology, antimicrobial nanomaterials, and
translational biomedical research. My research work has primarily focused on the design and development
of nanomaterial-based biosensing platforms, optical and electrochemical biosensors, and bio-functionalized
nanocomposites for applications in disease diagnostics, antimicrobial studies, and cancer detection.
During my doctoral research, I developed DNA-based optical and electrochemical biosensors for rapid,
simultaneous detection of Salmonella typhi and Salmonella paratyphi A using graphene oxide- and gold-
nanoparticle-based sensing platforms. Subsequently, I continued my postdoctoral and project-based
research at Jawaharlal Nehru University, IIT Delhi, and CSIR-National Physical Laboratory, where I
worked extensively on nanomaterial-assisted biomedical devices, graphene oxide-metal nanocomposites,
electrochemical biosensors, and immunosensing technologies for cancer biomarker and neurotransmitter
detection.
My research experience includes the synthesis and characterization of self-assembled monolayers, metal
and metal oxide nanoparticles, graphene-based nanocomposites, SPR-based analysis, electrochemical
analysis, molecular biology techniques, protein interactions, cell line studies, antimicrobial assays, and
biomedical applications of nanomaterials. I have also contributed to interdisciplinary projects related to
antimicrobial resistance, cancer therapeutics, green nanotechnology, and bacterial nanofactories.
I have served in various scientific positions, including ICMR Project Scientist, CCRAS Domain Expert,
UGC Women Postdoctoral Fellow, IITD-Senior Project Scientist, and Research Scientist, which provided
me extensive experience in project implementation, laboratory management, mentoring of students and
young researchers, proposal writing, scientific communication, and collaborative interdisciplinary research.
My scientific contributions are reflected through more than 30 publications in reputed peer-reviewed
international journals with a cumulative impact factor of approximately 99, over 1100 citations, and
an H-index of 14. I have also authored review articles, book chapters, and edited scientific books in the
areas of nanotechnology, biomedical sciences, and science communication. I have also received several
prestigious recognitions, including the ICMR-RA Fellowship, UGC Women Postdoctoral Fellowship,
and Young Scientist Awards (2025-SYBS India and 2017-NMS India) for my scientific contributions.
Also, received ‘Shubham Shri-2015’ award for ‘Swachh Bharat: Swastha Bharat’ mission led by an
NGO in UP.
In addition to research, I have actively participated in science communication, public health awareness,
scientific outreach programs, and national scientific initiatives through collaborations with academic
institutions, scientific societies, and government-supported programs. My overall research profile combines
fundamental biomedical research with translational and socially relevant scientific applications.
