About

I am a Ph.D. scholar in the Department of Biotechnology, Amity University, Kolkata, working under the supervision of Dr. Rudranil De. My doctoral research focuses on mitochondrial dynamics and mitophagy in gastric cancer, with particular emphasis on their roles in metabolic reprogramming, tumor progression, therapy resistance, and tumor microenvironment modulation.

My academic journey began with a B.Sc. in Physiology from the University of Calcutta, followed by an M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Amity University, Kolkata. During my early research, I worked on the rice blast fungus infection, which helped me develop a strong foundation in molecular biology and experimental research.

In my Ph.D., I integrate experimental and computational approaches to study mitochondrial complex assembly and quality control mechanisms. My findings have identified key regulators such as COA1 and PINK1 in cancer progression, offering insights into mitochondrial regulation in tumor biology.

I have presented my work at several scientific forums and was awarded the Best Poster Presentation at the 3rd International Global Cancer Consortium Conference (2024). My broader research interests include mitochondrial metabolism, cancer therapeutics, and genome editing approaches to target mitochondrial vulnerabilities in cancer.
