About

Dr Sanjeev Suman is presently working as Associate Professor in Civil Engineering Department of G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar (U. S. Nagar), Uttrakhand. Professor Sanjeev obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from G. B. Pant University, Pantnagar in 2001, Master’s degree from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 2003 and his PhD degree from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2011.
His area of interest includes Ant System Optimization, Intelligent Transport System (ITS), Advanced Public Transport System, Advanced Traveler Information System, GIS and Web GIS applications in Transportation and Advanced Surveying.
He has more than 19 years of teaching and research experience in university. His teaching involves both Undergraduate and Post Graduate level at the University in Highway Engineering, Mechanics and Advanced Surveying related subjects. He has guided 10 Postgraduate (Masters) students’ thesis.
He has 40 publications of National and International Journals / Conferences to his credit.
Dr. Suman is working as expert Transportation Engineering of State Technical Agency (STA) for the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) project for the state of Uttarakahnd.
He is also a Member of Coordinating Team of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Project at G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar (U. S. Nagar) for cluster of five villages of Gram Sabha Vijay Nagar, Block- Gadarpur, Distt- U. S. Nagar.
He has worked as members of expert’s panel for Uttrakhand Public Service Comission (UPSC), Haridwar and is also a resource person of Uttarakhand State Resource Institute (SRI) for training under National Programme for Capacity Building of Engineers in Earthquake Risk Management (NPCBEERM) of Ministry of Home Affairs Government of India.
He has organised ten (10) training / workshop programmes for the faculty, field engineers and students in the field of Core Civil Engineering and Earthquake Risk Management.
Dr. Sanjeev has delivered the Expert Lectures in various Training Programs and Faculty Development Programs, organized for field engineers and faculty members of other colleges.
Dr. Sanjeev has also performed his administrative duties as Nodal Officer of TDP component of TEQIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme), Secretary to Board of Faculty of College of Technology, and Co-staff counsellor of Engineering Society of College of Technology, Pantnagar.
Dr. Sanjeev Suman is also rendering the consultancy services to various Government/ private agencies in highway material testing & quality assessment of highway materials and Design of Pavement Crust for Bituminous and Rigid pavement and in the field of Surveying and Leveling.
