About

Obaidur Rahman graduated with First Class Honours and Dean's Scholar award in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wollongong in 2017. Building upon this foundation, he pursued a Ph.D. with the Australian Power Quality Research Centre (APQRC) at the same university, where his research focused on addressing voltage regulation challenges in future grids with high solar penetration and electric vehicle integration. Obaidur joined the Australian Power Quality Research Centre at the University of Wollongong as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in 2022, where he is actively contributing to industry collaborated research projects such as the Global Power System Transformation (GPST) initiative and the ARENA funded Harmonic Compliance Project. His main areas of research include Impact of Renewable and Distributed Generation on Electricity Networks, Power Quality Monitoring and Assessment, Electric Vehicles and Smart Grids.
