About
I am a researcher in Department of Horticulture at Sikkim University, India, with expertise in plant genetics, plant breeding, molecular biology, crop improvement, and conservation of plant genetic resources. My research focuses on the characterization, evaluation, and utilization of Himalayan germplasm for sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture. I have extensive experience in molecular marker analysis, particularly SSR marker analysis, genetic diversity assessment, population structure analysis, AMOVA, PCA, cluster analysis, and germplasm characterization.
I am skilled in DNA extraction, PCR amplification, molecular data analysis, and statistical analysis using R, with expertise in biostatistics, agricultural statistics, multivariate analysis, genotype evaluation, and stability analysis.
I have worked on multidisciplinary research projects related to agrobiodiversity conservation, local germplasm management, sustainable farming systems, organic agriculture, and climate-resilient crop production in the Eastern Himalaya. My research interests include molecular breeding, population genetics, bioinformatics, quantitative genetics, crop improvement, and the conservation and sustainable utilization of plant genetic resources.
I have authored and co-authored research articles, review papers, and book chapters published in peer-reviewed journals. In addition to research, I actively engage in scientific writing, manuscript editing, literature review development, research methodology, data analysis, and interpretation of agricultural and biological datasets. My goal is to contribute to the advancement of sustainable agriculture and food security through the application of genetics, breeding, and modern analytical approaches.
