About
I am hybrid rice breeder at ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack India since 2011. During my carrier span I could developed and released 4 hybrids (CRHR 32, CRHR 102, CRHR 103 through SVRC Odisha; and Rajalaxmi through SVRC West Bengal), 8 CMS and >150 restorers. Besides, through MAS approach, could improve parents and hybrids for sustainability traits like bacterial blight resistance, BPH resistance (biotic) and salinity and submergence tolerance (abiotic) stresses, seed producibility and yield. Adopted speed breeding and genomic selection strategies for shortening breeding cycle with substantial genetic gain in rice. Published >20 research articles and > 15 book chapters in the journals of national and international repute.
