About
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at SIES College of Arts, Science & Commerce (Autonomous), Mumbai, India. I completed my PhD in Biotechnology from Savitribai Phule Pune University in 2017, where my research focused on the microbial synthesis of metal nanoparticles and their applications. My research interests lie at the intersection of nanotechnology, environmental biotechnology, and microbiology, with a particular focus on developing sustainable materials and technologies for environmental and biomedical applications. I have more than 24 peer-reviewed publications, an h-index of 19, and over 3,000 citations.
Alongside research, I am passionate about teaching and mentoring. I teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Biotechnology. I serve as a University of Mumbai-approved guide for MSc (By Papers) and MSc (By Research) programs. I enjoy mentoring student research projects and integrating research-led learning into the classroom, helping students develop scientific thinking and practical research skills.
I actively contribute to the scientific community through peer review, academic collaborations, and research outreach activities. Looking ahead, I aim to develop sustainable nanomaterials and biotechnology-based solutions that address environmental challenges and have a meaningful societal impact.
