Dr. Sowmya K. N. is a Professor in the Department of Information Science and Engineering at JSS Academy of Technical Education (JSSATE), Bengaluru, India, where she also previously served as an Associate and Assistant Professor. She holds a Ph.D. from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysuru, and an M.Tech from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore.

Her research centers on Information Systems, Video forensics, Image forensics, Image processing, Machine learning, Deep learning, cybersecurity and LLM based applications. She has conducted 2 ATAL FDP's basic and advanced as a co-coorddinator at JSS STU, Mysuru.

Dr. Sowmya is an active member of several professional bodies, including ACM, the Computer Society of India (Life Member, since 2015), the International Association of Engineers (Life Member, since 2015), and the Indian Society for Technical Education (Life Member, since 2013).
