About

I am Dr. Sangaraju Rajendra, working as Research Scientist in the Department of Biological Sciences (Regulatory Toxicology) at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research-Hyderabad. I have completed my Post-Doctoral Research work as an ICMR-Research Associate at the Indian Council of Medical Research- National Institute of Nutrition. I have completed my Ph.D. degree in biological sciences at CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology and was awarded by the university as Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research, New Delhi, India.

I am a Pharmacology and Translational Biomedical Research Scientist with extensive experience in preclinical drug discovery, disease modeling, and mechanism-driven therapeutic validation. My work integrates in-vitro, in-vivo, and molecular approaches to advance translational research across inflammation, psoriasis, fibrosis (lung and liver), NASH/MASLD, neonatal sepsis, cancer, metabolic disorders, and stem cell biology.

I currently work in translational pharmacology research at NIPER, with prior research appointments at ICMR–National Institute of Nutrition and CSIR–IICT. I have contributed to multiple national and grant-funded research programs under CSIR as a Junior Research Fellow, Senior Research Fellow, and ICMR as a Research Associate. My research focuses on experimental pharmacology, compound screening, pathway and target validation, and development of translational disease models.

I have authored multiple peer-reviewed international publications & Book chapters and am a co-inventor on a multi-jurisdiction international patent family covering anti-inflammatory therapeutic compounds for dermal disorders across the US, Europe, Japan, China, Australia, Canada, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, WIPO (PCT). My research contributions emphasize mechanism-based pharmacology, therapeutic profiling, and evidence-driven validation strategies.

I was selected for the ARCH Australia–India Research Student Fellowship at RMIT University, Melbourne, supporting international collaborative research between Indian and Australian institutes and strengthening my global research engagement.

My broader research interests include inflammation biology, fibrosis, metabolic disease, pesticide toxicology, and phytochemical-based therapeutics. I work extensively on molecular signaling pathways, oxidative stress biology, and natural product pharmacology to develop translationally relevant therapeutic strategies.

Core expertise includes: Preclinical disease models • In-vitro & In-vivo pharmacology • Drug discovery & screening • Fibrosis and inflammatory disorders • Neonatal sepsis • Psoriasis & ulcerative colitis • Arthritis • Cancer biology • Wound healing • Metabolic disease research • Cell culture & biological assays • Molecular biology techniques • Mechanistic pathway analysis • Grant research execution • Scientific writing & reviewing • Data analysis and interpretation • Publications & patents.

Actively engaged in multi-center, grant-driven translational research programs focused on preclinical pharmacology and therapeutic development.
