About
I am Professor of Zoology at the School of Sciences, Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU), West Bengal, India.
M.Sc in Zoology from University of Calcutta (CU) in 2000, NET-CSIR-JRF in 2001, PhD in Zoology on Brain Tumour Immunology and Immunotherapy form CU in 2006 and Indian Academy of Sciences Summer Research Fellow in Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore, India in 2014. Formarly, I was Associate Professor of Zoology at NSOU (2019-2022) and Assistant Professor in Zoology at Panihati Mahavidyalaya (2007-20019).
Research Interests:
Specific Field of Research is Cancer Biology and Immunology.
One major area of research interest is to address how the CNS immune system, specifically microglia participate and regulate the developing and diseased brain, particularly in brain tumour.
Presently, one of the areas of research is to delineate the effect of ecotoxicity in the physiological, immunological and behavioural alterations in zebrafish model.
Other areas of research interests are now in developing a chemical carcinogen induced cancer model in laboratory, finding some potential bioactive components and their effects in cancer model and immune system etc.
Theoretical research in going on to find out the biological background of emergence of ethics in society.
Others:
Authors of several Scientific articles and Book chapters/Volumes
Reviewer of different journal articles of Springer, Wiley, Elsevier's and others.
Research Project Reviewer of National and International Funding Agencies.
Organizer of National and International Seminar and Conferences.
Writing books on Cell Biology and Immunology for Indian/International Publications.
Involved in spreading scientific knowledge and awareness in vernacular language (Bengali) by writing scientific articles on contemporary advancement in life sciences (cell biology, nature etc.) for common people.
