Dr. Soumya Sundaram is a Professor in the Department of Neurology at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology. With over a decade of experience in clinical neurology, academic teaching, and translational research, she has developed expertise across multiple subspecialties. Her primary areas of interest include pediatric neurology, neurodevelopmental disorders, neurometabolic diseases, genetic leukoencephalopathies, neuro-ophthalmology, and neuro-otology. Her work emphasizes integrating clinical neurology with advanced diagnostics such as neuroimaging and genetics. She has contributed extensively to the field through a large body of peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and national and international conference presentations. She has served as a reviewer for numerous high-impact journals and holds editorial responsibilities in Neurology India. She is actively involved in multicentric and interdisciplinary research, serving as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on several funded projects, including studies on neurodevelopmental disorders, mitochondrial diseases, and neurodiagnostic innovations.
