Dr. Poorav H. Desai is a distinguished academician, administrator, educator, motivator, and Homoeopathic consultant with over 25 years of experience in Homoeopathic education, healthcare, research, and institutional administration. Since 1999, he has been actively contributing to the advancement of Homoeopathy through teaching, clinical services, academic leadership, and research.
He is currently serving as the Principal of Jawaharlal Nehru Homoeopathic Medical College (JNHMC), Parul University, Vadodara, and as the Dean, Faculty of Homoeopathy, Parul University, overseeing the academic and administrative functioning of the University's four constituent Homoeopathic colleges.
Dr. Desai has held several prestigious academic positions, including Dean, Faculty of Homoeopathy, Saurashtra University, and has served as a Member of the Board of Studies at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka. He is also an Empaneled NABH Assessor for AYUSH Hospitals and a NAAC Assessor, contributing significantly to quality assurance and accreditation in healthcare and higher education.
A prolific author and researcher, Dr. Desai has authored three books on Homoeopathy and published numerous scientific papers in reputed national and international journals. He has been invited as a keynote speaker, resource person, chairperson, moderator, and jury member at various national and state-level seminars, conferences, workshops, CMEs, and academic forums.
Since April 2011, he has been serving as the Medical Superintendent of the 74-bedded NABH-accredited Jawaharlal Nehru Homoeopathic Medical College Hospital (JNHMCH). Under his leadership, the hospital achieved NABH Accreditation in December 2018, reflecting its commitment to quality healthcare and patient safety.
Dr. Desai has also made significant contributions to professional organizations. He served as the President of the Homoeopathic Medical Association of India (HMAI), Vadodara Unit (2008–2012) and currently serves as the Vice President of HMAI, Gujarat State Branch, promoting professional development and academic collaboration within the Homoeopathic fraternity.
