About

I obtained my PhD degrees in Zoology (specialization with Wildlife Biology) in 2010 from Bharathidasan University and I studied the “Reproductive behaviour and Pheromones of an endangered Indian Blackbuck (Antelope cervicapra L.) to enhance Captive Breeding and Conservation. Currently I am working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology, Thiagarajar College, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India.

I have received research grants from different funding agencies in India viz., Young Scientist Awards from Science and Engineering Research Board (FAST TRACK - Young Scientist - 2012), Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST-Young Scientist Fellowship - 2017) and Indian National Science Academy (INSA-Scientist Visiting Fellowship - 2017). International travel grant awarded from DST & UGC for attending the International symposium in abroad (2008 and 2011 Malaysia respectively).

My research is mainly deals on understanding and addressing the issues in related to improve the reproductive efficiency and successful reproduction in endangered species of wild captive zoo animal in order to enhance captive breeding especially for Indian Blackbuck, Lion tailed Macaque, Indian Bison and Sloth Bear etc.

My research interest includes various aspects of Pheromone Biology; Ethology; Captive Zoo Animal Management & Welfare; Behaviour ecology & Sociobiology; Chemical Ecology; Biodiversity Conservation; Limnology; Myrmecology etc.
