About

Dr. Harish Madival is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Dr. ACS College of Engineering, Bengaluru, India. He joined the institution in February 2026 and is actively involved in teaching, research, curriculum development, academic administration, and quality assurance.

He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Bengaluru, in 2025. His research interests include glass science, biomaterials, optical materials, rare-earth-doped glasses, and materials characterization. He has published several research articles in Scopus-indexed international journals, authored book chapters, and presented his research at international conferences. He received the Best Paper Award at the 2nd International Conference on Advancements in Materials Science & Technology (iCAM-2022) for his research on fluoride-doped bioactive glasses.

Before joining Dr. ACS College of Engineering, Dr. Madival served at the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bengaluru, for five years, where he gained extensive expertise in higher education quality assurance, accreditation processes, institutional documentation, and academic quality enhancement. During his tenure, he actively participated in workshops, seminars, assessor orientation programmes, and other quality assurance initiatives. He also guided several higher education institutions in the preparation of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) and Self-Study Reports (SSR), contributing to the enhancement of their accreditation outcomes.

Dr. Madival serves as a reviewer for multiple Scopus-indexed international journals and is committed to fostering a strong research culture through collaborative research, faculty development programmes (FDPs), workshops, seminars, and student mentoring. He actively encourages students to engage in research, present their work at international conferences, and publish in reputed journals. His broader academic interests include research and innovation, curriculum development, institutional quality assurance, and strengthening academia–industry collaboration.
