About
Debnarayan Khatua obtained his Ph.D. in mathematics from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur, where he worked on models of dynamic systems in different environments (production inventory, fuzzy mathematics, optimal control theory). He completed a master's in mathematics from Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, in 2010. He received his bachelor's degree from Ramakrishna Mission Residential College Narendrapur in Mathematics Hons. in 2008.
Debnarayan Khatua is an Associate Professor in Mathematics at the Dept. of Applied Science and Humanities at the Parul University, Gujarat. Previously, he worked as an assistant professor in mathematics at the Dept. of Computer Science & Technology at the Global Institute of Science & Technology Haldia, West Bengal, as an assistant professor in mathematics at Woxsen University, Hyderabad and as a senior assistant professor in the Dept. of Mathematics and Statistics at Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology, and Research (deemed to be a university), A.P. He has organized three national and international conferences and FDPs there.
Some of his earlier roles and responsibilities are:
i) NBA coordinator of the Dept. of Computer Science & Technology, Haldia, West Bengal.
ii) IIC convener of the Global Institute of Science and Technology, Haldia, West Bengal.
iii) Sports coordinator of the Global Institute of Science & Technology, Haldia, West Bengal.
As an assistant professor, he is dedicated to teaching and mentoring students and is deeply committed to fostering a love of mathematics in the next generation. He is also an active researcher, with a focus on Mathematical Modelling, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Biomathematics, Fuzzy mathematics, etc. In addition, he has published numerous papers in academic journals like soft computing, IJFS, COAM, etc. He has also presented his work at conferences and workshops around the world. Recently, his research collaborations have been with IIT Kharagpur, NIT Durgapur, XIM University, etc.
He secured third place in mathematics at the university in 2010. In 2015, he qualified for GATE. He received the best poster award in mathematics at the 4th international conference organized by the World Scientific Congress, India, in 2014.
Outside of academia, He enjoys staying up-to-date with the latest developments in mathematics and related fields like artificial intelligence and machine learning. He is also an avid reader and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
