Dr. S.T.Selvamani is presently working as a Professor, Dept. of Mechatronics Engineering, Chennai Institute of Technology (CIT), Chennai, India. He completed his Bachelor Degree in Mechanical & Production Engineering from Annamalai University, Master degree in THERMAL ENGG from Government College of Technology (GCT) Coimbatore and obtained Ph.D. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University,Guindy, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. He has more than 17 years of Experience in Teaching and Research. He has completed a DST-SERB funded Project entitled “ Joining of Aluminium Alloy with Low Carbon Steel by CMT Welding Process”. File No. EEQ/2016/000114 and also he is currently running the project funded by DRDO - ARMREB for RHA steel welding, File No. ARMREB/MAA/2025/307
He has published 70 papers in SCI and SCOPUS indexed Journals having Impact factor. He has also Presented more than 100 papers in international and National Conferences. His Google Scholar h-index is 15. He is the life member of Indian Welding Society (IWS) and Indian Institute of Welding (IIW), He is the Reviewer of Elsevier and springer journals. His current area of Research includes Solid state and Fusion Welding, Composite Materials, Modern Manufacturing, Optimization, Simulation and Modelling. He has visited Thailand.
