About
Natesan Srinivasan is a faculty member (Professor) in the Department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, India. He completed his Bachelor and Master degrees in Mathematics from H.H. The Rajah’s College under Bharathidasan University. He is the university First Rank Holder in M.Sc. Applied Mathematics from Bharathidasan University. He received his Ph.D. degree in 1998 from the Department of Mathematics, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, India. After the Ph.D. degree, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Centre for Mathematical Modelling, University of Chile, Santiago, Chile. In 2003, he joined as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at IIT Guwahati and started his academic career in teaching and research.
His area of research includes Numerical Solution of Differential Equations, multi-scale problems, mainly on singular perturbation problems, and homogenization, domain decomposition methods, and computational fluid dynamics. For his credit, he has published more than 60 research articles in reputed international journals, and a few chapters in books. He developed various efficient numerical schemes for boundary layer problems. He has guided a couple of Ph.D. students in Mathematics. He is an active researcher. He delivered several talks in national and international conferences and workshops. He has organized several short-term courses, workshops and conferences.
In addition to the academic responsibilities, he has taken various administrative responsibilities as well.
He serves as an editorial board member in some international journals, and he is a reviewer in Computing Reviews, Mathematical Reviews and Zentralblatt MATH.
