About
Selvam Kaliyamoorthy is currently working as a Senior Researcher at Mie University, Japan. He received his Bachelor of Science (2001) and Master of Science (2003) degrees in Chemistry from Bharathidasan University in India. He earned his Ph.D (2011) in Chemistry from Annamalai University, India. Afterward, he joined Osaka University, Japan as Specially Appointed Researcher (2012-2015). Later he was awarded the RCMS Post-Doctoral Fellowship (2015-2016) to work with Nobel Laureate Prof. Dr. Ryoji Noyori’s research group at Nagoya University Japan. Afterwards, he received a prestigious JSPS Post-Doctoral Fellowship to continue his research in the same laboratory. After completing his tenure as a JSPS fellow, he was appointed a Senior Research Fellow (November 2018-July 2021) to work on a project sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, Japan, in collaboration with Toyota Research Center, Nagoya. Dr. Selvam's notable awards include the Seal of Excellence from the European Commission (2018), CSIR-SRF fellowship (2008-2010) and JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship (2016-2018). His research interest focuses on the development of unique heterogeneous photocatalysts and electrocatalysts for energy and environmental applications. As of right now, he has published 55 papers in reputable international journals with a total impact of 289.41 and an h index of 24 among those 20 papers as first/corresponding author (average impact factor = 5.67, total number of citations = 1618 (from Scopus); 1960 (from Google Scholar) and h index = 25). Besides serving as a Guest Editor for Micromachines from MDPI group and Frontiers in Chemistry, he has also served on the Editorial Board of Organic Chemistry: Current Research journal, Environmental Research and Technology journal, International Journal of Materials Science and Applications journal. He is also a Potential Reviewer of many Scientific Journals.
