About
Chandan Kumar earned his PhD degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Patna, India. His dissertation title was ‘Non-Tariff Measures and Agriculture Trade: India and its Trading Partners’. He completed his M. Phil and Masters in Economics from Ranchi University. He was recipient of the UGC Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for research work.
In studies, he focusses on International economics in particular with special coverage of India. His research interests include International trade, Agricultural trade and Indian economy. In particular, critical analysis of how countries integrate on international trade issues for mutual benefits and what repercussions fall on different sectors. It also includes exploration of different bindings, trade agreements and policies that countries make at the international level and how far they have been successful in complying them.
He has completed two GIAN Courses namely 'Indian Economy and Society' (foreign course faculty Late Professor Emeritus Raghbendra Jha, Australian National University) and 'Responsible Conduct of Research' (foreign course faculty Dr. Maya P. Nair, University of North Texas) with A grade. He has worked as Teaching Assistant (TA) for the NPTEL Online Certification course conducted by IIT Madras namely ‘Infrastructure Economics’ and ‘Economics of IPR’ during July- September 2015 and July- August 2016 respectively under the guidance of course coordinator Professor Nalin Bharti (IIT Patna).
Selected research papers were published in international peer reviewed journals of Inderscience and Sage like Foreign Trade Review (IIFT New Delhi), Insight on Africa (JNU), Obuda University e-Bulletin (Hungary), HRC Journal of Economics an Finance (D.U.), Inderscience International Journal of Transitions and Innovation Systems (United Kingdom) and International Journal of Services, Technology and Management (United Kingdom) etc. He has also presented many research papers in different international and national conferences including International Conference on Economics and Development held in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 15-16 June, 2017. He has also participated in many research training programs of Institute For Human Development Ranchi and other CEP Courses. He had received consolation prize from Camel for Best handwriting in school days. His hobbies include research and reading.
