About

Dr. R. Senthil is a Professor at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai. He has 26 years of experience teaching and researching solar energy conversion and storage. He has been working on the effective use of energy storage materials for thermal management in buildings, solar thermal, and photovoltaic energy systems. As a lifelong learner focused on the Sustainable Development Goals, the proposed research primarily targets achieving SDG-7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG-11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) to develop sustainable solutions for cleaner environments. He has authored 150 articles in reputed international journals, with a Scopus h-index of 31 & i-10 index of 82, totalling over 3000 Scopus citations. He currently ranks among the Top 2% of the World's Most Cited Scientists in the Single-Year category (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024) and the Career-long category (2022, 2023), according to the Elsevier-Stanford University report. He completed 30+ MOOCs. He serves as an Academic Expert, DC Member, Thesis Evaluator, Conference Chair, and Keynote Speaker. He coordinated the installation of a 100 kW Solar PV power station at Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam, Tirumala, with a Total Budget of ₹ 97 Lakhs. The plant has been functioning since February 2015. Additionally, he has been coordinating the plant maintenance activities to date. He is a reviewer for 205 WoS/Scopus-indexed journals (including Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, Taylor & Francis, ASME, ASCE, IEEE, etc.) and has completed over 1,500 reviews.
