About
I am a researcher and academician specializing in neuro-biochemistry, amyloid biology, structural biology, and biophysics. Currently, I serve as an Assistant Professor at the School of Sciences, Woxsen University, Hyderabad, India. I completed my Ph.D. from the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, where my research focused on the molecular mechanisms of α-synuclein aggregation associated with Parkinson’s disease. My doctoral research was recognized with the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award from IIT Bombay.
My research integrates structural biology and biophysical approaches to investigate protein aggregation, neurodegenerative diseases, and biomolecular interactions. I have published several research articles in internationally reputed journals, including ACS Chemical Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, and Scientific Reports. My recent work focuses on understanding sequence-specific conformational dynamics of α-synuclein and the role of synaptic vesicle architecture in Parkinson’s disease pathology.
With more than seven years of teaching and research experience, I have taught subjects including biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, genomics, proteomics, recombinant DNA technology, and biophysical techniques. Beyond academics, I am actively involved in science communication, student mentoring, and educational outreach through workshops and digital learning platforms.
