About
I am Dr. V. Satyanarayana Swamy, a postdoctoral researcher with a strong background in nanobiotechnology, cancer cell biology, and tumor microenvironment studies. My research primarily focuses on understanding the molecular characteristics of rare cancer cell populations, including circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and EMT-associated cells, during metastasis. During my Ph.D., supported by the ICMR-SRF, I developed quantum dot-based nanoprobes for targeted imaging and profiling of EpCAM-positive and negative cancer cells within co-culture systems that mimic the metastatic niche.
I have extensive experience in nanoparticle synthesis, surface functionalization, and fluorescent labeling for real-time cellular imaging. My expertise also includes flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, molecular docking, and in vitro modeling of cancer microenvironments. I have contributed to several publications and a patent application based on my doctoral work. Additionally, I have completed advanced coursework and research training in nanomaterial design during my tenure at Academia Sinica, Taiwan.
My future goal is to integrate molecular and immunological techniques with nanotechnology to advance diagnostics and therapeutics for rare cancer populations within the tumor microenvironment. I aim to contribute to translational cancer research and precision oncology through innovative interdisciplinary approaches.
