About

Dr. Debashis Roy is working as Scientist 'B' (Entomology) at Tocklai Tea Research Institute, Tea Research Association, Jorhat, Assam. His research focuses on insect toxicology, ecotoxicology, and invasive insect pest management in crops with a keen interest in interrupting the development of insecticide resistance by lepidopteran and hemipteran insect pests. He holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Entomology from the Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Nadia, West Bengal, with the INSPIRE Fellowship from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi, and has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles in leading scientific journals. His research has been recognized with several awards, including the Outstanding Researcher Award by DSTBT, Govt. of West Bengal, Young Entomologist Award, and the Society Young Scientist Award. The extension output of Dr. Roy has been featured in several news outlets and has received widespread recognition.
