Dr Mona Semalty (M. Pharm, MBA, Ph D) is a Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, H.N.B. Garhwal University (A Central University) Srinagar (Garhwal), Uttarakhand, India, with a vast teaching and research experience of 21 years. She has completed 10 research projects funded by various agencies and is currently undergoing one research project. She has published 84 papers, 06 books, 47 book chapters and holds 3 patents (granted). She is a highly cited researcher (> 2500 citations) in the field (h index 25, i10 index 36). She has presented papers at more than 100 conferences.
She is an Expert reviewer of the Ministry of Institution and University Research (MIUR), Italy, Elsevier Books, DST SERB, India; a Member of The Asian Council of Science Editors, APTI and IPA. She is an Editorial Board Member and Peer reviewer of various national and international reputed journals. She has supervised 28 M. Pharm research projects, and supervising 02 Ph.D. candidates.
She has delivered more than 500 invited lectures (on OERs, academic writing, nanoparticle research, IKS, research methodology, research ethics, MOOC, blended/ flipped learning, research proposal writing, plagiarism, etc.) in various training programs in MMTTCs, Faculty Development Centers (FDCs), Human Resource Development Centres (HRDCs). She is a Member of the National Panel of UGC’s resource persons. She has developed over 100 hrs. of e-content including 2 SWAYAM Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs): “Academic Writing” (listed in top 30 world MOOCs) and “Industrial Pharmacy I” (First and only Pharmacy MOOC in India) with more than 83000 learners (in total for both the courses) from more than 100 countries; and 2 SWAYAMPRABHA courses (Pharmaceutics-I and Cosmetics).
Her research interests include cyclodextrin and lipid complexes, nanoparticles, Small-angle neutron scattering (SANS), and natural products for drug delivery like obesity and hair loss.
