About
Dr. Sunil Kumar (ORCID ID: 0000-0001-7632-7251), has a PhD in Biotechnology from Sanjay Gandhi Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Science, Lucknow, India. He is a full Professor & Dean of Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Mahayogi Gorakhnath University Gorakhpur where he is teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Molecular Microbiology, Genetic Engineering, and Biofilms/Probiotics biofilms. His expertise is Microbiology / Probiotics and pathogenic bacterial Biofilms. In his work he employs microbiology methods and molecular, biology, spectroscopy techniques. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles, some of them in top journals (i.e. Biomedicine and Pharmacotherapy, Microbial Pathogenesis, Clinical Therapeutics, Digestive Disease and Science, Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, etc.). His total publication list includes over 60 items. He has been working with biofilms over the past 7 years studying the development of biofilms on different surfaces including medical devices. He uses probiotics and natural agents to treat bacterial biofilms. In his laboratory some new natural antimicrobial compounds are being tested.
