Amiya Ranjan Panda

About

Dr. Amiya Ranjan Panda is an Assistant Professor (II) in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at KIIT Deemed-to-be University, where he has served since June 2018. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Institute of Technical Education and Research, Bhubaneswar (Siksha "O" Anusandhan University), completed in 2017 with a coursework CGPA of 9.0. His doctoral research focused on the design, development, and implementation of a Software Defined Radio-based Flight Termination System. He is currently pursuing his Post-Doctoral Fellowship at London Metropolitan University, UK.

With over eight years of teaching experience—including prior stints at Siksha "O" Anusandhan and Gandhi Engineering College—Dr. Panda's research interests span Machine Learning, Data Science, IoT and Real-time Data Acquisition Systems, Software Defined Radio, Remote Sensing and GIS, and Information Security (ISO 27001:2013). His current research focus has expanded into Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Generative AI, and Agentic AI.

His research output is substantial, comprising 16 SCI/SCIE and Scopus-indexed journal papers, 61 conference papers, two book chapters, and three authored/edited books, alongside 23 patents (20 granted, 6 published). His work has earned 462 citations on Google Scholar (H-index: 11) and 274 on Scopus (H-index: 9).

Dr. Panda has led two DRDO-funded projects on ISO 27001:2013 implementation at ITR, Chandipur, worth nearly ₹20 lakh combined, and received the Best Faculty Award from KIIT in 2019. He is an active professional, serving as an IEEE Senior Member, Secretary of the IEEE Computer Society Chapter (Bhubaneswar Section), and Faculty Advisor for the IEEE Computer Student Branch Chapter at KIIT. He also holds memberships in the Instrument Society of India, Computer Society of India, and Computer Science Teachers Association, while contributing to university administration and conference organization at KIIT.
