Mr. Vilas Anil Chavan is currently serving as the Associate Dean of the School of Sciences at Aditya University and the Principal of Aditya Degree and PG College in Surampalem, Kakinada District, Andhra Pradesh, India. He is also pursuing a Ph.D. in Forensic Science at the Center of Research for Development (CR4D) at Parul University, Vadodara, Gujarat, India.
Mr. Chavan has extensive experience in the field of forensic science, having previously worked as a forensic professional in the Computer Forensic Unit at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), New Delhi, India. He has held positions as both Head and Assistant Professor at various esteemed forensic institutes and universities. His professional journey spans over seven years, during which he has gained significant experience in teaching and administration within the forensic science domain.
In terms of his academic background, Mr. Chavan holds a B.Sc. in Forensic Science from YCIS, Satara, Maharashtra, and an M.Sc. in Forensic Science with a specialization in Fingerprint and Questioned Document Examination from the Government Institute of Forensic Science, Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
He has successfully qualified in the National Testing Agency’s UGC-NET and the Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (MH-SET) in Forensic Science, making him eligible for the post of Assistant Professor. Additionally, he has passed the All India and Maharashtra Forensic Aptitude and Caliber Test (FACT & FACT Plus) in 2024 and FACT in 2018 for Forensic Document Examination, conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, in collaboration with the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), New Delhi.
Mr. Chavan's research interests span various domains within forensic science, including Forensic Nanotechnology, Forensic Document Examination, and Fingerprint Sciences.
