SREEJITH RARAN-KURUSSI
Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Hyderabad, National Cancer Institute, University of Pune
About
Dr. Sreejith Raran-Kurussi graduated with a Bachelor’s degree (Honors) in Biosciences from the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, where he was the top-ranking student and received a Gold medal. He then completed a Master’s degree in Biotechnology at the University of Mysore before enrolling at the University of Pune for his doctoral studies. Following his Ph.D., Dr. Raran-Kurussi undertook postdoctoral training in the Protein Engineering section led by Dr. David Waugh at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), NIH. His current research focuses on innovative methods in protein engineering to address challenges in protein folding and structural analysis. A significant part of his research is devoted to creating effective approaches for rescuing insoluble proteins and promoting the crystallization of recalcitrant targets. These contributions help push the boundaries of what is achievable in modern structural biology.
