About
I am an academic and researcher in Thermal and Fluids Engineering, with expertise in thermal management of devices, multiphase flows, interfacial phenomena, and surface wettability. I currently serve as an Assistant Professor, actively engaged in teaching, research, and academic administration. I earned my Ph.D. in Thermal and Fluids Engineering from the IIT Bombay–Monash Research Academy, Mumbai, where my doctoral research focused on the experimental investigation of droplet impact and evaporation on solid surfaces, emphasizing colloidal self-assembly and droplet bouncing phenomena, and providing insights into droplet dynamics on superhydrophobic micro-grooved surfaces, coffee-ring formation on non-uniformly heated substrates, and Cassie–Wenzel wetting transitions. During this period, I gained extensive hands-on experience in advanced experimental techniques, including photolithography-based fabrication of micro- and nano-textured surfaces, high-speed flow visualization, infrared thermography, optical microscopy, and surface profilometry. Following my Ph.D., I pursued postdoctoral research at IIT Madras, developing pulsating heat pipes and thermosyphons for advanced thermal management applications, including electronics cooling, electric vehicle batteries, and jet engines. This work involved experimental characterization, flow visualization, thermal performance analysis, and modeling with different working fluids and surface wettability modifications. I have published extensively in reputed international journals, including Applied Thermal Engineering, International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, Langmuir, Energy Conversion and Management, and Experimental Heat Transfer, with a Google Scholar h-index and i10-index of 10. I am also a co-author of the book, Essential Convective Heat Transfer: Theory and Applications, and hold two granted Indian patents for high-efficiency heat transfer devices. My teaching experience includes core undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Graphics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Convective Heat Transfer, Automobile Engineering, and Power Generation, Transmission, and Utilization, as well as contributions to departmental administration, student mentoring, laboratory asset management, and academic reporting.
