About

My Ph.D. research was focused on the structural-dynamic features of CCL2 chemokines from murine and humans and unraveling the molecular interactions between various plant-based products such as flavonoids and CCL2 orthologs. In this work, I have cloned, expressed, and purified human and murine CCL2 proteins using multiple chromatographic techniques such as affinity chromatography and ion exchange chromatography. I have also conducted extensive structural and biophysical studies on CCL2 ortholog proteins using solution-state NMR, circular dichroism, fluorescence spectroscopy, and molecular docking. Apart from that, I have also carried out cell-based assays to detect the antimicrobial activity of various compounds using MIC assays and UV-Vis spectroscopy for my collaboration work. Moreover, as an RA in the school of biotechnology at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), I have performed computational work. I have used extensive bioinformatics tools such as SWISS-MODEL, Chimera, PyMol, SAVES, SPDV, AutoDock, HADDOCK LigPlot, Avogadro, and many more to model, design, and screen potential selective inhibitors of amoebic proteasomes.
Currently, I am working as a Postdoctoral Scientist at the University of Minnesota. My research uses multi-dimensional NMR spectroscopy and other biophysical techniques to unravel the structural and dynamic features of the kinases, specifically the Aurora A kinase and the c-Myc proto-oncogene.
