About
My Name is Ahmed J. Ridha Al-Heety born in Heet City on 25th October. I obtained my B.Sc. in Geology and M.Sc. Degree in Geophysics from the University of Mosul-Iraq. My research interests are in Applied Geophysics, Geotechnical Geophysics, Seismic Data Processing, Signal Processing, Seismic Refraction Tomography, Surface Wave Inversion Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW) and Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT).
I have three primary lines of research.
* The first addresses, the use of Seismic Refraction Tomography and in environmental problems, soil characterization.
* The second addresses the development of seismic surface wave inversion to extract the velocity of shear waves.
* The third is integration information from the two lines above to determine engineering properties and Elastic Module.
My other line of work explores issues of Geotechnical engineering and issues in the processing of seismic reflection data in oil exploration.
I worked with Baker Hughes. Dep. Surface Logging Services (SLS) as a Mud Logger which provides information about the well status for the extraction of oil or gas. I was using a range of equipment and laboratory techniques, such as binocular microscopes, and ultraviolet fluorescence for oil and gas shows (whether oil and/or gas is present in the samples.
Now, I’m working with Oil Exploration Company as a Geophysicist. I am a skilled in seismic reflection data processing, synthesis seismic section generation, Static Correction issues. All these skills were acquired working in OEC, Iraq.
I have Theoretical knowledge of Seismic Acquisition, Design, and interpretation.
Qualified to working with OMEGA® software (Schlumberger) and Skilled in the using of Geovation software (CGG) as well as Microsoft Office, Matlab, and seisImager/2D for refraction data and MASW.
Has excellent presentation skills.
I have authored more than (25) papers in different journals and participated in several conferences.
I author of the Book entitled: Encyclopedia of Geologist Flag in Iraq " Geological Adventures about Elite of them (2015) .1st Edition, Rozhalat publisher, Erbil-Iraq. 350 p.
