About
I have more than 23 years of extensive research and teaching experience. I received my Ph.D. in Biomaterials from the School of Biomolecular Science, University of Pisa, Italy, under the supervision of Prof. Emo Chiellini and Prof. David L. Kaplan. Furthermore, I have been trained at some of the most prestigious Universities and institutions, such as BWH, HST-MIT, Harvard Medical School, Tufts University, CNR-Bologna, and Ghent University, as a postdoctoral researcher and as an academic in nano-biomaterials. My research focuses on designing bioactive nano-biomaterials for therapeutic applications, which includes designing phage cocktails to eliminate bacterial biofilms and engineering nano-biomaterials to counter Multi-Drug Resistance Bacteria. I have published several international patents and publications in high-impact journals with citations: 5992, H-index: 38, i10-index:70. I am honored to received the prestigious Ramanujan Fellowship in 2016 from the Department of Science and Technology, India, and the Ramalingaswamy Fellowship in the year 2017 from the Department of Biotechnology, India and am currently pursuing my research at ICMR-NIHR, Bhubaneswar. My commitment and dedication towards solving biomedical problems led me to dive deep to unravel the pathophysiological responses to external factors in human health.
