About

Dr. Amit Kumar Singh is currently an Assistant Professor of Biotechnology at the School of Sciences, Woxsen University (WU), Hyderabad, India. He has two years of Postdoctoral Research experience from Department of Mechanical Engineering, George Mason University, USA. His Postdoctoral research work was focused on development of micro(nano)bot-based treatments for pulmonary infections. Before joining the George Mason University, Dr. Singh was a Senior Research Fellow for two years at The Centre for Excellence In Nanoelectronics & Theranostic Devices (CENTD), Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India.

Dr. Singh has earned his Ph.D. (Nanotechnology) at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India and his doctoral research was on designing self-propelling magnetic micro/nanobots for applications in biomedicine, clean energy, sensing, and water treatment. Prior to his doctoral studies, he earned his Masters and Bachelors in Biotechnology from Heritage Institute of Technology, India. He is the recipient of multiple awards, including:

(1) Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Fellowship Finalist 2022-2023 (Awarded, but Declined),

(2) Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA-PF) Seal of Excellence Award 2022-2023.

(3) Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (SRISTI-GYTI) Award 2019

(4) DST-SERB International Travel Grant Award 2016.
