BIO-DATA OF Dr. R. G. KULKARNI
Raghavendra G. Kulkarni received the BE degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Karnatak University, MTech from IIT Madras, and PhD from IIT Kharagpur.
He joined Hybrid Microcircuits division of Bharat Electronics Ltd., (BEL) Bangalore in 1982, and won the company's R & D Excellence Awards in 1989 and in 2011 for his works on Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) devices and signal conditioner HMCs respectively. Dr. Kulkarni was working with Bharat Electronics Ltd., till August 2014, and now he has joined PES University, Bengaluru as Distinguished Professor in the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering.
Dr. Kulkarni has obtained two patents on SAW devices, and has authored more than seventy papers in the field of SAW devices, signal processing, and mathematics. He is the inventor of “Kulkarni windows” used in the design of Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filters. He has published several new methods of solving cubic and quartic equations.
Dr. Kulkarni is a life member of Ramanujan Mathematical Society and Indian Mathematical Society. He is a reviewer for SIGNAL PROCESSING journal and IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control.
