About
Presently working as Professor in Department of Bioengineering and Biotechnology, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra Ranchi and involved in teaching UG and PG (Biotechnology) students. I have passed M.Sc. in Biochemistry from Allahabad University and completed Ph. D. from School of Biochemical Engineering, Institute of Technology Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. My Ph. D. work was on antibiotic cephalosporin-C and its conversion to 7-Aminocephalosporanic Acid. Prior to joining Birla Institute of Technology in 2011, I was associated with Birla Institute of Scientific Research Jaipur from 2001-2011. I was also associated with an industry for two years where my assignment was mostly with the production and downstream processing of penicillins and xylanases. I was involved in technology transfer of xanthan production at the pilot scale. I have successfully completed six government funded projects and published about more than fifty research papers and review in various Journals of International repute along with supervision of PhD, M Tech, MSc and BE students. My area of research includes production and characterization of nitrilases, alkaline proteases exopolysaccharides, phosphate solubilization and utilization of agro-wastes to valuable compounds.
