About
A PhD graduate in Biomedical Sciences with more than eight years of experience and exposure in Health Research Assays Development. Currently, serving as a Research Scientist in Multidisciplinary Research Unit Maulana Azad Medical College and Associated Hospital New Delhi India.
From one decade, his area of research and teaching is focused on clinical microbiology of infectious diseases & Public Health. He developed molecular beacon-based PCR assays for STDs like Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and Trichomonas vaginalis.
During His doctoral research, He designed and developed a cost-effective PCR based assay for STIs, along with a handheld fluorescent reader in collaboration with industry.
He submitted two patent applications and is ready for technology transfer to the industry from University of Delhi.
In summary, His PhD and Postdoctoral work addresses antibiotic resistance issues, revealing the flaws in syndromic case management based on subjective judgement for STDs through extensive clinical studies.
He developed alternative improved treatment algorithms for contributing to proper antibiotic use and minimised Antimicrobial Resistance. Recently, He is in the process of developing affordable, user-friendly POCT based diagnostic kits for low resources settings labs.
He has published more than 30 publications in High impact Indexed journal with more than 1000 citations. He edited Book for Springer Nature titled "Emerging Human Viral Disease Vol-I" and Wrote a book titled "Subjective Judgement is Justified?". He is also co-author and author in various Book Chapters.
As a Medical Researcher and administrator: He carried out seven extramural funded research projects as Principal Investigator and Co-investor. He got approximately INR 2Cr project grants from various funding agencies like DST, ICMR, IoE and NIH.
He guided more than 20 Master students for their research as supervisor and Co- Supervisor. Currently, Guiding two PhD students and 6master students.
He is in Various Comettee of Various institutes and universities such as Members Research Advisory, PhD Subject Expert, PhD Thesis Examinar, Project Grants Reviewers and reviewer of many international and national journals.
As a part of the team, Dr. Subash established a state of the art research laboratory named as ‘Multidisciplinary Research Unit’ at MAMC with the funds received from DHR, GOI which is now catering the infrastructural needs of the research in medical college. During the Pandemic, He actively participated and took leads to set up the COVID-19 diagnostic lab in MAMC.
In Summary, A PhD graduate and Highly motivated translational research professional with more than 08 years of experience in project planning, review, evaluation and technology assessment with problem solver, self-initiator and methodologist. He possess excellent language skills, proficiency in data disseminations, writing grant proposals, as well as professional knowledge of writing, editing & review scientific manuscripts.
