About
Dr Amit Kumar Jain is a Lecturer within the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the School of Computing, Engineering and Built Environment at Glasgow Caledonian University, UK. Before this, largely he worked at the University of Cambridge, UK, for his postdoctoral studies in predictive maintenance. For his contributions to prognostics, he received a PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Indore. He is presently researching on engineering asset management and maintenance. He focuses on how data and artificial intelligence can considerably improve asset performance. Reliability, industry 4.0, manufacturing analytics, and operations management are his primary research interests.
Amit has over 20 papers published in reputed academic journals and conferences, besides 2 books. In 2018, he received a Visiting Researcher Grant from the Royal Academy of Engineering London; and in 2019, he won the Best Paper Award at the Int. Conf. on Precision, Meso, Micro, and Nano Engineering. He actively engages with the industry (viz. British Telecommunications, UK) through research and consulting projects. He is the review editor of the Life Cycle Engineering speciality section of Frontiers in Manufacturing Technology. He is a member of the international advisory board of conferences and has chaired various sessions at conferences. He's also given over a dozen invited talks at universities, conferences, workshops, and faculty development programmes. He is a member of the Prognostics and Health Management Society, USA.
