About
I have done my PhD in Environmental Microbiology and my area of expertise was 'Remediation of saline soil using halo-tolerant plant growth promoting bacteria and their associated metabolite exopolysaccharide'. I have worked to analyze the structural and compositional changes in EPS in contrast to salt stress. I have worked at field levels and have estimated the efficacy of developed novel bioformulation using salt tolerant strains and EPS.
Exopolysaccharides are important stress molecules and neither plant nor microbe can survive in the absence of these polymers under unhospitable conditions. Thus, studying their role in stress conditions can unfold complete action mechanisms of bacteria and can even help in designing novel methods of application to get better plant productivity.
