About
Dr. Jagdeep Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET), Longowal, a Deemed-to-be University under the Ministry of Education, Government of India; where he also serves as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
He is Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEHv13AI), and holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Delhi, New Delhi. His research interests are artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, federated learning and anomaly detection in cyber-physical systems. His work has been published in leading Q1 and Q2 journals with IEEE, Springer, and Elsevier, and presented at top-tier international flagship conferences such as IEEE ICC, IEEE GLOBECOM, IEEE CITS, etc.
He currently serves as Co-Principal Investigator on a ₹40 lakh Government of India-funded project on AI-enabled multi-drone cooperative surveillance, supported by the HEFA CSR and focused on road safety and landslide detection in the Himachal Pradesh. Dr. Singh is a Senior Member of the IEEE and the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), and serves on the Editorial Board of Scientific Reports, Nature Portfolio. He is also an AICTE-certified Master Trainer in High-Performance Computing and an AWS Academy Educator.
His national recognitions include winning the Indian Web Browser Development Challenge, organised by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, securing victory in both the Ideation and Prototype stages as Team Leader. He was also selected as a Young Faculty Member for presentation at the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC-2025) held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, organised by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Dr. Singh has delivered more than 25 invited keynote and expert talks at premier institutions across India, including NIT Hamirpur, IIT Roorkee, and Rashtriya Raksha University, along with several AICTE-sponsored national FDPs and STCs, making him one of the most sought-after voices on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity in the Indian academic community today.
Dr. Singh is also an active contributor to the international academic community. He served as Program Chair of WIDECOM-2025 at Toronto Metropolitan University, Canada, and has chaired technical sessions at ICAMS-2025 (NIT Hamirpur, in collaboration with IIT Roorkee), IEEE DICCT-2026, 2025 (Graphic Era Deemed-to-be University, Dehradun), and ICICST-2026 (Dr. B. R. Ambedkar NIT Jalandhar), besides serving as a panelist at the Pre-Summit Event of the IndiaAI Impact Summit 2026, HRIT Ghaziabad. He is a regular reviewer for leading journals, including IEEE Access, IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, and IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing, among several others, and has served on the Technical Programme Committee of conferences such as IEEE DICCT, Springer WIDECOM, Springer ANTIC, and Springer MIND.
