About
Dr. Gourav Mishra is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET), Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, where he also serves as the In-charge of the Nanotoxicity & Drosophila Research Laboratory. He has over 11 years of combined experience in teaching, research, and academic administration in the field of biotechnology and nanotechnology.
Dr. Mishra earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat, as an MHRD-funded research scholar. His doctoral research focused on the synthesis of nanomaterial-based mixed matrix ultrafiltration membranes, particularly halloysite nanotube–nanoparticle–PVC composites, for wastewater treatment and antifouling applications. He completed his M.Tech. in Biotechnology from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal.
His research interests include nanobiotechnology, nanotoxicity, wastewater treatment, emerging pollutant removal, and the development of advanced food packaging materials. Dr. Mishra has published extensively in high-impact international journals such as Scientific Reports, Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering, Antibiotics, and Human Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics. He holds multiple Indian patents related to water treatment devices, photocatalytic reactors, and sustainable systems.
Dr. Mishra has actively participated in national and international conferences, including the AIChE Annual Meeting (USA), and has received a SERB International Travel Grant under the Young Scientist category. He is a life member of the Asian Federation of Biotechnology and an individual member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). He also serves as a reviewer for reputed international journals.
Through his teaching, research supervision, and interdisciplinary work, Dr. Gourav Mishra continues to contribute significantly to sustainable nanotechnology solutions and biotechnology education in India.
