Dr. Animes Kr. Golder did his BE from Jadavpur University and MTech & PhD from the Chemical Engineering Department at IITKharagpur. He was awarded the National Doctoral Fellowship (NDF) by AICTE. He developed an electrochemical route of Cr(VI) reduction in a single process step without chemical addition. He joined as a senior lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at IIT Guwahati in 2008 and presently he is an assistant professor. Six PhD students are now working under his supervision. His main research areas are electro-, bio-, physiochemical-remediation and AOPs for water/ wastewater treatment. He has published more than 70 scientific research articles in international-journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Golder visited Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Delaware (USA) through DST sponsored BOYSCAST Fellowship and worked on Electro-Photo-Fenton for the removal of pharmaceutical contaminants from water. His ongoing assignments include cultivation and production of Spirulina platensis biomass, a value added product, with simultaneous pollution abatement of leather tanning effluent.
